Is Mithas sweets overrated?

Today I was dying to eat some chatpata snacks so ordered few samosa and Sugar free Kalakand from Mithas -Aundh and I was like God what the hell are these samosas.

The taste was plain bad, filling was stale, outer layer was cold, chuttney was watery. Couldn’t even find a single positive about the samosas.

So what is the hype about them. They have decent presence across pune, their prices are on the higher side and considering their shop ambience I was expecting some God level taste. 😢

Edit 1. I always get samosas from this shop, but this time decided to try something new.

    Mithas has decent sweets, don’t remember eating snacks there though.

    The problem with any major franchisee store chain is no consistency across all stores.

    Not sure about samosa but i always prefer Mithas over chitale for sweets in general.. chitale only for snacks

    There are two samosas one pyaz and other moong . I like the moong one . It also depends on branch to branch I prefer the shsatrinagar branch . Dhoklas are fresh and great. If u see pune station branch it looks like some local shop but shsatrinagar shop looks very modern

    Mithas was very good a few years back. Post Covid, they have gone down. But their biscuits are too notch for sure. I only stopped because they were so addictive.

    It seems you are new in Pune. So the short of it all is.. give your tastebuds some time… They would adopt to the taste and preferences of this city. what you find tasteless is very subjective and it takes some time getting used to the food scene here and I can safely assume that you are from North like Delhi Haryana Chandigarh etc.? Am I right?

    Mithas samosaa used to be the best in Aundh. Even better than Parihar sweets which was the place to go for almost all aundh-baner residents. I haven’t been there since I moved out of Aundh in 2017. Their sweets are so good, specially their angoor rasmalai 🤤

    Maybe try Kaka Halwai for snacks but their sweets are mid

    Once pls try samosa at Jalebi Junction. Indorilal is also good.

    Mithas- Rabdi and some sweets are good. Dhokla, cookies are good. Samosa, Kachori, Namkeen are bad.
