Hello everyone,
I am curious to hear about your experiences with the job market lately, especially regarding the hiring process. I am not really talking about a lack of job opportunities, but more about how the whole hiring experience has been for you.
I have been at my current company for over eight years now. It has been a good ride—decent pay, great people, and a nice work-life balance. They also supported us well during the pandemic, which I really appreciated. But I have started feeling a bit *too* comfortable, and I think it is time to shake things up for some financial growth and new challenges.
So, I have started job hunting and have gone through four interviews so far, with two of them reaching the final stages. What has surprised me the most is how little the hiring process has changed since I last did this. It feels like I am back in 2015! Same old interview questions, psychometric and aptitude tests, and even filling out forms by hand to scan and send back. It has made me wonder if this is just how things are in my industry (Marketing), or if everyone is still dealing with these outdated practices.
Is anyone else noticing this? Or have you seen any big changes in the hiring process in your field?
