I found this video on YouTube.

There are still so many questions as how this things work.

So basically they don’t want any of this to happen in Pune anymore, what’s your take guys ?

My opinion: weekender is best organised event in Pune , they do take steps in security, underage drinking etc. But it’s up to the people to decide if they want to follow the rules or not.

  1. Pune is the home of NH7 Weekender and all the best artists and headliners happened in Pune always.

They always followed rules based on hand band colours and security checks to avoid selling tobacco and alcohol to underage people attending. This is the best they can do.

At this point, shifting weekender to some other city is not a bad idea to another city for organisers because of the embarrassment of last moment cancellation. People across the country travel for this, their hotel and travel won’t be reimbursed.

  2. 1. Diljit Dosanjh concert location was indeed a bad choice by the event company( I attended). Could have chosen something on the outskirts.

    2. Nh7 weekender has been happening since a lot of years now and isn’t new to pune. I have attended alot of seasons at the Mhalaxmi lawns near kharadi bypass. There wasn’t protest at all because location was not near residential area.

    3. If drinks is the problem then every bar/wine shop in the city would get shut down.

    4. Where was this protest when some days back that bavdhan event happened. Saw only residents protesting.

    5. There are appropriate hand bands given to folks attending based on their age and what is allowed to drink.

    6. Most important: Weekender ke organizers ne paise khilane se mana kar diya hoga ya fir settlement nahi hua hoga.

  3. Funny when the same things happen during any major festival(we all know about the drinking, DJ and hooliganism). They too happen in resedential areas 🙂
It looks like a way for these politicians to make a quick buck from the organisers.

  4. Galli Galli mein Ganesh chaturthi, Eid , aur ambedkar jayanti ko subah se raat tak speakers lagate hai, to woh kab bandh bone wala

  5. It’s MNS, a party who did very terrible in elections. They will do this halla gullaa before every event to motivate their workers. As per the track records of all political party they will take ransom and move on. The irony is Raj Thackeray himself had organised the only Michael Jackson concert in India😅.

  6. It’s okay to play Chikni chameli on DJ in religious celebrations on roads and drunk drive Porsche. But NH7 weekender will destroy the culture of the city.

  7. Cancelling nh7 had repercussions on local caterers. Specifically women from the PULA community who had already started prepping. Sad

  8. Punyat, ani Bharatat, jar purese paise asle tar hawa te ghadvun anta yeta. Organizers ni purese paise politicians/police hyanna dile nahi mhanun he zalele asnar. New Year’s la lagech hech sagle lok parat ratri daru peeyun nachtana distil.

  9. Weekender should have remained at Shillong. Pune weekender is an empty shadow in comparison

  10. Clear extortion tactics from the organisers.

  11. People stand and drink right in front of liquor shops nobody gives a flying F. But are concerned for organized event.
These things will move to other cities and pune will lose in revenue in big time. Rather it shows inability to maintain law and order while events are organised.

  12. Probably not enough under the table money was given to politicians/ cops and hence the cancellation. These are just some foolish cover up reasons being given to the public.

  13. I am OK with the point about drinking..

What I am not ok about this point –

    “स्थानिक नागरिकांना आवाजाचा त्रास होतो”

Tumhi jeva 10-10 divsanni loud speakers lavun miravnuka kadhtat, teva kay nagrikanna tras hot nahi kaay..

    YZ!

  14. हा माणूस सांगतो तसं असेल तर चांगलं झालं.

  15. When we force people to retire at 60 cause we know they are not physically and mentally the same as they were and therefore are not fit to be making decisions.
Then why tf do we elect them 🤷🏻🙂‍↔️

  16. Imagine Pune If even a fraction of such political will was towards maintaining the city’s infrastructure….

  17. One thing you’re forgetting is that the rules are different for politicians and people, despite us being a democracy on paper.

दारू सर्रासपणे देण्याचा हक्क is something that only political parties have during the time of elections.

Pune being विद्येचं माहेरघर is something only politicians can conveniently forget when they put up extremely loud loudspeakers during religious festivals, however small that occasion may be (e.g. Datta jayanti). The common man while going on with their daily lives isn’t allowed to forget that Pune is विद्येचं माहेरघर.

  18. This is SO embarrassing my gooodnesss!
All this drama for being fed hell lot of money because last I checked hyanchi mandali daaru piun saglikade dhingana kartat. Not just MNS but every political party

  19. This thing is turning into something disgusting! If concerts and music festivals are so bad, then please stop the roadside DJs which always lead traffic congestion, sound pollution, Eve teasing by drunks! The cops will always turn a blind eye to this, eventually this will lead to large migration of events to other cities, leading to a big impact on the revenue.

Instead of calling boycotts and protests be alarm and actively participate in making sure the events are peaceful and manage the traffic!

  20. I am thankful for Gandus like these who will guide me (youth) along the right path in life 🥳

  21. MNS is desperate for creating an identity again. BJP hya chutyanna shen khau galtil.

  22. MNS chuts trying to stay relevant.

  23. WHATS THE NAME OF THIS GUY

  24. Good MNS doing something worthwhile for a change. You got my vote for the next election.

  25. Kabhi time mile toh maps kholke dekho where the hell are they organising these events. Why did locations change from sus. Wagholi?

  26. “They don’t want any of this to happen in Pune” bhenchod iska kya meaning hota hai bhai
