Amazon refrigerator exchange scam

[ad_1]

I ordered Samsung refrigerator from Amazon and applied exchange for old samsung fridge.

The dilevery person came and asked to check the fridge and said the lower section is not getting cooled properly (the cooling is slow but it cools- main reason I bought new fridge). I showed him but he denied and told his boss the fridge is not working and said exchange value will be halved. I denied the exchange and paid the extra amount and took the new fridge.

Later the delivery guy called and said he would like to buy the fridge for his personal use. I feel he did this intentionally to get 290 ltr fridge for 3k.

I am so damn angry with two fridge in my kitchen, where can I sell my old fridge.

  1. Nowhere. It will either get bought at a very low price, or it will stay with you and you will have to scrap it. Or you can donate it to someone. I donated mine last year to a kaamwali bai.

  2. Should have denied delivery, called up amazon and cleared it then and there, have been there and it was resolved in the next delivery, still makes sense to put in a complaint.

So what usually happens is, after waiting for a while and receiving the item, we tend to get troubled and just end up accepting it as is and people utilise this vulnerability.

  3. You should’ve just refused the delivery!

Flipkart’s always pulling this stuff. I rarely buy from them, but they had the Google Pixel, which I wanted. My old phone was working fine, but then I saw a great deal – instant discount and extra trade-in bonus – so I went for it. The guy shows up, inspects my phone, and claims the screen gap is too wide or something, so they’ll reduce the trade-in value. I told him to cancel the order. He told me to give 500 bucks to get the full value. I stood firm, saying I wouldn’t budge even if they reduced the value by a single rupee. He messed around on his phone for a bit and finally agreed to give me the full amount. What a hassle!”

  4. Repair it and sell it to college students. They usually want cheaper fridges for a couple of years. And also contact Amazon services and tell them their guy is trying to scam you.

  5. If you live in a society, tell the security and house helps that you are selling a fridge.

  6. Plz raise it with Amazon

  7. That is how exchange works, if something isn’t working as its supposed to, you get very less.

  8. >I am so damn angry with two fridge in my kitchen,

I’m sorry but this made me laugh out loud.

Hope you figure out a way

  9. Try OLX or Facebook marketplace.

  10. Complaint on Amazon, apparently this tactic is being used by delivery guys now

  11. When we ordered a fridge from amazon, the delivery personnel didn’t even check the old fridge properly and just went with what was there, no questions asked.

Although the fridge was 10+ years old. I think we got lucky 😅

  12. Facebook marketplace… I sold mine last yr for 4k

  13. Which area do you live in? I know few vendors who buy second hand electronics and sell them

  14. Sort of same thing happened with us. The pickup guys came in and said that the freeze has this and this problem. Hence, if we pay 1700, They will pickup, otherwise they will reject the pickup. I asked them if they will provide the bill for 1700, they said yes, you will get it by evening. I paid them using gpay. By evening, when the bill didn’t came in. I understood that I have been scammed. I called amazon and made a complaint, since I had the gpay screenshot. They asked that guy to pay back the money immediately.

  15. It’s an old strategy bro, try bribing him 500-600
