How Much Salary is Enough to Live in Pune?

[ad_1]

Hi everyone,

I’m planning to move to Pune and live alone, but I still have family responsibilities to take care of. For those who are in a similar situation, could you share your experiences and insights on the minimum salary required to cover personal living expenses in Pune while also supporting family needs?

Your feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

  1. I know a security guard who stays with wife and two kids who manages in 6k per month (he has free stay), and a boss who pays 50k just as rent ..so it’s totally upto you I feel, it depends on location too!

  2. Welcome to Pune. While I do not know your exact financial situation, I would give a ver generalised number.

I think a salary of 60-70 thousand in hand should be sufficient in Pune (excluding home loan burden).

Again, please note it’s a very generalised number.

  3. Cost of living has increased drastically in Pune. Depending on which area you live house rents vary.
Commute from home to work is also a factor.
Food is getting expensive and if you eat out the n add that to expenses.

  4. Hard to give a specific number without knowing any details. It depends on your lifestyle and your family size. Does family mean parents and siblings, or do you also have a wife and kids?

  5. It depends on your lifestyle, conservative one will survive with family in 40-50k,
If u dont belong to that category then even 1L wont satisfy u.

  6. 50K for basic life plus booze, coke and hookers but that depends on whether you are adventurous or not

  7. No amount is sufficient

  8. Live alone? 40-50k minimum

  9. It depends bro where you’re planning to stay. Areas like baner-bawdhan-hinjewadi will cost you more same goes for koregaon park, kalyani nagar, viman nagar etc. Also, it different from building to building if you’re talking about rent. Rough estimate would be for 1 bhk be ready for atleast 15-20k pm. (Minimum and can vary depending upon locality). Food and groceries can be adjustable as it’s up to your priorities. As you mentioned you’re from conservative, so it can be minimized by your end.

So consider 15-20k atleast for that. (More tbh). And rest travel etc If you’re commute is nearby you won’t need much budget for that. Except for weekend part and trips-outgoings etc.

So basically, you’ll atleast need 50-60k to live comfortably. Rest are the priorities and preferences. Can vary. If choose to live in little away from work location you may get to pay rent less but travel will be more. Also, daily food will be cheaper. So without those details, one can hardly give you the rough estimates. Asit drastically varies.

  10. Expenses have increased, people are stressed as work and earnings are shaven off, more people on the streets doing timepass and tea drinking than ever, cost of living is one aspect, living and commute standards has changed negatively in many areas.

  11. So, Those “Is 90 LPA enough to survive” Quota posts have made their way onto Reddit now.

  12. 30-40k per person of the family

  13. After responsibilities and savings/investing you are left with 30-40k then you can live comfortably here.

  14. You can survive and enjoy well in under 20k (max25) of personal expenses (including: rent, mess food, transport, occasional fancy restaurants)

  15. If you decide to live under your means, 10-12k a month of expenditure including rent is possible, 20-25k per month salary would be reasonable

  16. Around 2 to 2.5 lakhs per month for high end places like wagholi.

  17. Atleast a 1lac if you have family.
A fresher should not worry about it much… salary corrections happen when you switch progress in your career
