Was searching a 2bhk for a close relative and found the exorbitant rents for even shitty flats.
I have 2 flats in Pune but I have kept below market rates so that the tenant gets to live peacefully without burden.
I’m myself living in rented flat (due to ofc location).
There was a broker who wanted 1000 Rs just to show the flat.
There was another who list at least 10 shitty things like Lights, Fans, modular kitchen and wardrobe as fully furnished with 35K rent.
Don’t even want to start about the deposit. 3-4 months of Deposit for a below average flat. Like we are going to steal the fans and tubelights.
On top of that broker charges of 1 month.
Have been living in Pune from 2007 but have observed in last 3-4 yrs post COVID things have become out of control.
When I enquired abt the owners, most of them are from Mumbai or are settled abroad. There is no end to the owner’s greed.
